SLNA News: REmarket Was a Success!

The REmarket Donation Day organized by the St Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Waste Reduction Group (WRG) on February 10th was a huge success ! 

The SLNA Waste Reduction Group wants to thank St. Lawrence Neighbourhood residents for their donations to REmarket. 

We also want to thank our partners (St. Lawrence Market, St. Lawrence Market BIA, Salvation Army, Renewed Computer Technologies (RCT), Prosthetics for Foreign Donation (PFFD Inc.), Optic Zone and Staples), and our WRG volunteers for making this third donation event such a success.

We extend a special note of gratitude to Kevin from the St Lawrence Market BIA for all his assistance.  

The REmarket Donation Day resulted in:

• 48.5 skids of textiles, books, and houseware for the Salvation Army... 3.5 truckloads  
• 5 skids of electronics for RCT (Renewed Computer Technology)
• A large number of mobility aids (crutches, canes, walkers, etc.) for PFFD Inc. which will be sent to prosthetic clinics in Guyana, Gambia, and Jamaica
• A large garbage bag full of eyeglasses for Optic Zone to be redistributed overseas.
• A large number of pens and other writing instruments, ink cartridges and batteries to be recycled responsibly by Staples

​As part of Transform TO, Toronto's Climate Change Strategy, the City of Toronto has a goal of reducing Single-Use and Takeaway Items.

The city wants to know what you think !

Call for Nominations - Join the SLNA Board!

We want you! SLNA Delegates (and residents who can become delegates for their buildings in order to submit a nomination) are invited to submit their nominations for candidacy to serve with their neighbours on the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Board of Directors.

There are 3 seats available on the Board of Directors and the election for these seats will take place at the March SLNA Annual General Meetting.

The deadline for submissions is the end of day, Monday, March 28th.

SLNA Annual General Meeting

The SLNA's Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m.

All delegates are asked to review the minutes of the 2021 SLNA Annual General Meeting that were sent via email to each delegate. If you did not receive the minutes in your inbox, please download the minutes now. 

We ask that all delegates read the 2021 AGM minutes in advance of the upcoming 2022 AGM so that there can be a vote on the following Motion:

That the SLNA membership approve the minutes of the 2021 St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Annual General Meeting.
