"Toronto is a sophisticated, modern, global city.
The envy of the world.
With the brains, energy, talent and drive to run our own affairs.
We think it's time we were treated that way."

A new City Charter for Toronto has been proposed by city residents and is now live online at CharterCityToronto.ca.  You can browse or download the proposal at your leisure.  The people behind this proposal hope it will be improved through public discussion.

Share what you think, and share comments with others by joining the Facebook group at CharterCityToronto, or follow the group on Twitter.

Free tickets are still available for the group's public meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 21. At this meeting interested attendees can hear all about the proposal, speak to some of the proposal's authors, ask questions, make suggestions and tell the group what you think about a City Charter to empower and protect Toronto.  Sign up here.

Tell your friends to sign up for these updates at the bottom of any page at the website.

The hope is that this is the beginning of a great conversation about the future of Toronto. Thanks for your support and your interest!

Facilitated roundtable discussions will provide residents with an opportunity to highlight the challenges they are facing in the local community. We look forward to working on meaningful solutions that advance equity, health and safety in our Ward 13 Toronto Centre.

Heritage Conservation District Appeal

The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal hearing for the St. Lawrence Heritage Conservation District plan is scheduled for November 12 - 29th. This hearing is open to the public.

Suzanne Kavanagh, former president of the SLNA and chair of the SLNA HCD Committee submitted a strongly written participant statement on behalf of the SLNA that is available for you to read here.

Many years of work went into the HCD plan for our neighbourhood - the birthplace of the City of Toronto. That plan was unanimously approved by City Council in 2015.  We are hopeful for a positive outcome.
