Finally - Extended Market Hours Start July 31st!

The permanent change we have all been waiting for...beginning July 31st, the St. Lawrence Market will be open Sundays and weekday evenings!

The South Market building will be open Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

The Saturday Farmer's Market will maintain its current hours - 5 a.m. - 3 p.m. every Saturday.



SLNA Virtual Community Meeting - July 27th - 7 p.m.

The next monthly St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Community Meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 27th at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be virtual and hosted on the Zoom videoconference platform.
Our meeting agenda includes presentations by guest speakers from the following organizations:
  • Heritage Toronto - learn about their tours in our neighbourhood and surrounding areas in addition to volunteer opportunities!
  • Shelter, Support and Housing Administration - City of Toronto
  • Ward 10 and 13 Councillors or Staff

​St. Lawrence Reduces - Contest


The St. Lawrence Reduces program has launched a contest with weekly prizes of $50 gift cards and a grand prize of $250 in gift cards to businesses in the St. Lawrence Reduces program!

The Contest runs from July 18th - August 28th. We have over 30+ participating cafes, restaurants, and market vendors in our program in the St. Lawrence area. Follow St. Lawrence reduces on us on Instagram and Facebook for details on how to enter and to see the list of participating businesses visit the St. Lawrence Reduces Contest post on the SLNA website. 




TO Live Job Fair

Are you passionate about performing arts and live entertainment, and looking to start your career? TO Live invites you to our job fair!
 
TO Live operates and programs three performing arts venues, including Meridian Hall and St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in downtown Toronto, and Meridian Arts Centre in North York. Our vision is to build a better city through the arts, and we are looking to expand our team to do so!
 
We will be hosting two job fairs for our downtown Toronto and North York locations, recruiting for the following roles:
  • Theatre Attendants (all venues)
  • Concession Attendants (all venues)
  • Event Attendants (all venues)
  • Food & Beverage Porter (all venues)
  • Box Office Attendants (all venues)
  • Cooks (located at Meridian Hall)
  • Chef de Partie (located at Meridian Hall)

Downtown Toronto Job Fair (for Meridian Hall and St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts)
Our downtown Toronto job fair will be held on Wednesday August 10th, between 11 am and 6 pm in the main lobby at Meridian Hall, located at 1 Front Street East.
 
North York Job Fair (for Meridian Arts Centre)
Our North York job fair will be held on Wednesday August 17th, between 11 am and 6 pm in the main lobby at Meridian Arts Centre, located at 5040 Yonge Street.

St. Lawrence Reduces - Contest

St. Lawrence Reduces is a collection of local businesses who allow customers to bring their own reusable cups or containers. See list and map of participating businesses below.

This project is organized by the SLNA's  Waste Reduction Group  and is supported by City of Toronto through Live Green Toronto, the Neighbourhood Climate Action Champions Program and the St Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA/Old Town Toronto. Businesses can learn how to join below.

From July 18 to August 28, 2022,  St Lawrence Reduces is hosting a contest to raise awareness about the options available locally to reduce and reuse and decrease the amount of garbage being sent to our landfills.

STEP ONE: Take a photo showing your reusable and the inside or outside of the participating business. Click here for a directory of participating businesses.

STEP TWO: Post the photo on your Instagram or Facebook feed (not to stories)

STEP THREE: Include the business @ + @stlawrencereduces + #stlawrencereduces
Obtain an extra entry by tagging 2 friends in the post.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Contest begins July 18, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. ET and ends on August 28, 2022, at 11:59 ET. The contest time frame consists of six (6) contest periods with each defined as one (1) week (Monday 12:00 am to Sunday 11:59 pm EST). There are thirteen (13) prizes available to be won consisting of twelve (12) $50 gift cards for participating businesses to be drawn at a rate of two (2) winners per contest period and one (1) grand prize of $250 in gift cards from participating businesses to be selected from all eligible entries during the contest time frame. Open to legal residents of Ontario who are the age of majority at the time of entry with the exception of members of St. Lawrence Reduces and anyone living in their households.

There is a limit of one weekly prize per person, and one entry per person per day. 

The photo must be an original creation – no copyrighted images may be used. By entering, the participant certifies and warrants that the submitted photo(s) does not violate the rights of a third party or any copyright. St. Lawrence Reduces is not responsible for intellectual property violations that might have resulted through the submissions of photos.

Winning entries will be chosen at random and chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entrants in each contest period. Winners will be notified by Direct Message using the medium with which the entry was received (Instagram or Facebook). Only winning entrants will be notified. If an entrant is unable to be contacted after 48 hours upon reasonable attempts having been made to do so, St. Lawrence Reduces reserves the right to offer their prize to the next randomly selected entry.

By submitting their photos to the St. Lawrence Reduces photo contest, participants agree to grant St. Lawrence Reduces free of charge the right to use the photo in any manner and media, including without limitation, the right to publish, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate in printed or electronic media even if they are not the winning entries. Winners are required to answer a skill-testing question.


HOW TO ENTER
The contest has two (2) entry methods for each contest period:

i) St. Lawrence Reduces will make a specific post on their Instagram and Facebook accounts asking participants to tag two (2) friends in the comments and follow @stlawrencereduces on Instagram or Facebook to obtain one (1) entry for that contest period (participants only need to enter on one platform to be eligible, not both).

ii) Take a photo showing their reusable and the inside or outside of the participating business and post the photo on their Instagram or Facebook feed (not to stories) using #stlawrencereduces and tag @stlawrencereduces in addition to the featured business’ Instagram or Facebook account, if available, for one (1) entry. Obtain one (1) additional entry if you tag two (2) friends in the post. The grand prize will be randomly selected from all eligible entries throughout the contest time frame.
