The Board of Directors may, as it deems necessary, appoint ad-hoc committees or groups of Delegates and others to discuss or organize any activities within the scope of the Association and may also revoke any such appointments and/or abolish any such committees or groups at its discretion.
Canada Day (July 1) Committee

Description of responsibilities and objectives: This committee organizes the signature annual event for the neighbourhood -- the July 1 (Canada Day) Festival.
Since 2005, Canada Day has been celebrated in the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood and has featured a community parade, music, a cake and tons of fanfare!
Post Covid, the festivities have been centred in St. James Park and include greetings from area politicians, live entertainment, indigenous participation, heritage story-telling plus crafts and other activities for children and the entire family. Get in touch to lend a hand:

Events Committee

Description of responsibilities and objectives: This committee organizes other events for the neighbourhood apart from the annual Canada Day Festival and Picnic, including neighbourhood 'meet-and-greets' and project launch get-togethers/celebrations. 

Community Environment Day
[Some activities on environment days are organized by the Waste Reduction Group, others by the gardening committee]

Description of responsibilities and objectives: The Community Environment Day is an annual neighbourhood event and it is hosted by local Councillors, Environment Day events can include neighbourhood clean-ups, the compost give-away, electronic recycling and hazardous waste drop-off.

The primary purpose of this group is to connect the various waste management resources in the neighbourhood to benefit residents and improve the effectiveness of waste reduction efforts in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood.

Description of responsibilities and objectives: The Gardening Committee offers residents a way to join together to improve and enhance the beauty of our natural environment. The group works with, and advises on, publicly accessible gardens on the ground, on walls, on balconies and on roofs.
