Ontario Line Open House Metrolinx is hosting a virtual open house on April 26th to share information and answer questions about the downtown segment of the Ontario Line transit project. This includes the future stations at Osgoode, Queen, Moss Park and Corktown.
The proposed "Corktown" station is the one closest to our neighbourhood and would be located at the current Staples site at Berekely and Front streets. The open house will take place on Monday, April 26th, starting at 6:30 p.m. You can register and submit questions at: https://www.metrolinxengage.com/en/OLliveApril26 Please share this information with your neighbours and friends. This public event is part of a series Metrolinx are hosting through April for all the Ontario Line station areas. There will apparently be more opportunities to learn about the project and provide feedback. You can learn more about the Ontario Line through their website, news blog, and e-newsletter. COVID-19 Update
Save the Foundry Effort - Funds Needed Thanks to the activism of this community, the provincial government has stopped demolishing the The Foundry heritage building on Eastern Ave. While we still await final decisions/announcements, the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association is still short of the funds needed to settle payment for the legal costs incurred to secure the temporary injunction that stopped this demolition work. Donate to the Save the Foundry Fund.
