SLNA Annual General Meeting March 30

SLNA Delegates and residents of the St. Lawrence neighbourhood are invited to attend the Association's Annual General Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 30th at 7 p.m. The meeting will be hosted on the Zoom videoconference platform.

At this meeting the Association will elect Directors to fill openings on the SLNA Board.

Key Reminders for SLNA Delegates

All delegates are asked to review the minutes of the 2021 SLNA Annual General Meeting that were sent via email to each delegate. If you did not receive the minutes in your inbox, please download the minutes now. 

There will be three motions to be voted on at the meeting. Details and background information for each motion were sent in a separate email to all SLNA delegates. Please review this information in advance of the meeting. If you are a delegate for your building and did not receive this information please contact the SLNA Board at [email protected].

AGM Motions:

1. Motion to approve the minutes of the SLNA Annual General Meeting held March 31, 2021, as circulated;
2. Motion to accept the financial statements for 2021, as circulated;
3. Either:
   1. Extraordinary ​resolution "to not appoint an auditor and to not have an audit or a review engagement in respect of the corporation’s financial year ending December 31, 2022", or if this extraordinary resolution is not passed;
   2. Motion to appoint Hogg, Shain and Scheck Professional Corporation to perform a financial review engagement for 2022.

I’m an actor who is also your neighbour in the St. Lawrence Market area. But given that PAL, The Performing Arts Lodge, is also in the neighbourhood, I’m hardly unique. Actually there are so many actors around these parts, you couldn’t swing a cat without hitting one! And, like all of them (and many of you) our livelihoods pretty much evaporated 2 years ago when Covid 19 arrived on our doorsteps. But also like many of you, the need to overcome, to continue and to somehow keep working could not be constrained for long and adaptations were made. Cue the pivoting!...
