The next Community Meeting for Delegates of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association and residents in the area will take place Wedneady, February 23rd at 7 p.m. All residents are invited to this virtual meeting (see connection information below). Keynote Presentation Our keynote presenter for this evening will be Kevin Jeffers, Managing Supervisor of the St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre. Mr. Jeffers will be discussing the extensive facilities and programming offered within the centre and will also be highlighting planned events for March Break. SLNA Delegates (and residents who can become delegates for their buildings in order to submit a nomination) are invited to submit their nominations for candidacy to serve with their neighbours on the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association Board of Directors. There are 3 seats available on the Board of Directors and the election for these seats will take place at the March SLNA Annual General Meetting. SLNA Calls City to Action on Wellington St. Issue The Wellingston St. re-construction initiative has been initiated then delayed repeatedly in recent years creating havoc for residents and hurting businesses in the area. The SLNA has just issued a letter to Mayor Tory calling for an immediate status report and stressing the importance of completing this project as a City priority. We invite you to view the letter here. Free Rimbala Workshops for Seniors *A program offered by local arts organization Jamii. For seniors who are interested in being active to support well-being, Jamii is offering Rimbala workshops at no cost. Rimbala combines live, improvised music with simple and fun movement activities to help seniors improve balance and mobility. Rimbala has been developed by Daniel Rubinoff, PhD, Music Director at Jubilee United Church in Toronto. Daniel Rubinoff is a professional performer, composer and teacher. WORKSHOPS ARE FREE but registration is needed as space is limited.
