Once You are a Member
Once your building is a Sponsoring Member of SLNA, this is how you, as a resident, can participate:
- Keep informed about what’s going on in the neighbourhood:
Check out the SLNA web site (slna.ca). There’s lots of information on the web site about the Association and what it does. Subscribe to SLNA’s weekly newsletter for news of current interest, upcoming events, neighbourhood activities and much more… [Subscribe through the web site.] - Participate in SLNA’s monthly Community Meetings:
All residents of member buildings are welcome to attend any of SLNA’s monthly Community Meetings. Hear from members of the Community, City staff, elected representatives about what’s going on in your neighbourhood. [Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month (except August and December) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. As of January 2024, meetings are being held virtually, on Zoom.] - Participate in all SLNA Member events:
As a resident of a member building, you are invited to all of SLNA’s member events throughout the year. These include opportunities to meet-and-greet your neighbours, hosted by SLNA at neighbourhood venues; special events such as those held to celebrate the Association’s 40th Anniversary in 2023; the Canada Day Picnic and more… - Get more involved by becoming an SLNA Delegate for your building:
SLNA Delegates are a critical link between the Association and the residents of Member Buildings. Delegates are the Association’s local decision makers. They are the voting representatives of the Building Member for all matters of the Association that require approval by means of a vote. The most impactful of these responsibilities is the vote for Directors which occurs at each Annual General Meeting. Delegates are selected by each individual Building, and are encouraged to foster a regular two-way dialogue between building residents and the Association. - Participate on SLNA Committees:
All residents of member buildings are eligible to join SLNA Committees. If there’s one on which you’d like to participate, please let us know. - Run for a Position on the Board of Directors
If you want to help shape the future of the Association, consider serving on the Board of Directors. The Board consists of a maximum of eight Directors and meets on the second Wednesday of each month (6:30-8:30 PM). There is always lots to be done! [https://www.slna.ca/board-of-directors.html] - Have questions? Want more information?
Please send us an email: [email protected] - Your participation is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.
