Final milling and paving activities are scheduled from August 4th to 9th.

The details of the closures to accommodate this work are as follows:
 
Nightly, 9:00 pm to 5:30 am, Tuesday, August 4th to Thursday, August 6th, asphalt milling and temporary line markings  

• Eastern Avenue is fully closed from Sumach Street to Broadview Avenue 
• Adelaide Street East is fully closed from Power Street to Eastern Avenue 
• DVP Northbound On-Ramp at Eastern Avenue closed 
• DVP Southbound Off-Ramp at Richmond Street closed (closure 10:30 pm to 5:30 am)

Friday, August 7th, 9:00 pm to Sunday, August 9th, 5:30 am final milling, final asphalt paving, and permanent line markings 

• Eastern Avenue is fully closed from Sumach Street to Broadview Avenue 
• Adelaide Street East is fully closed from Power Street to Eastern Avenue 
• DVP Northbound On-Ramp at Eastern Avenue closed 
• DVP Southbound Off-Ramp at Richmond Street closed (closure 10:30 pm Friday to 10:00 am Saturday and 10:30 pm Saturday to 5:30 am Sunday).   

 
The paving operation is weather-dependent.  The Saturday closures will be rescheduled to Sunday if work cannot proceed due to rain.
 
Looking Ahead:
Following the final paving operation, one eastbound and one westbound lane on Eastern Avenue will remain closed in a localized area between Sumach Street to St Lawrence Street to complete the Adelaide Bridge pier rehabilitation until fall 2026.  Following this work, rehabilitation work on the underside of the bridges will continue, including intermittent short-term/overnight closures on Eastern Avenue, DVP, and the connecting ramps. Final restoration and plantings are scheduled to be completed in Spring/Summer 2027.

Collectively, the campaign has already sent over 500 letters to local MPs via the Reality Check website.

The St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association is a founding member of both Waterfront For All and No Jets TO and, unless and until the case is properly made and supported, remains opposed to the most recent proposal from the Provincial government to expand the Billy Bishop airport to accommodate jets, driving a related significant increase in passenger traffic.
